Vacation to the Black Hills

In the middle of July Grant, the kids, and I took a trip to the Black Hills. We had a wonderful time! Our camera broke half way through our vacation so we didn't get pictures of everything. We still came home with lots of good pictures though!

Our first stop was Storybook Island in Rapid City. The kids had lots of fun running around and playing at the park.

They had an old train engine for kids to climb on. The boys loved it!

The boys also got to ride on the Penny Express

After Storybook Island we headed to Reptile Gardens. Elliot LOVED the Cockroach house and insisted on taking a picture by it. It i kind of hard to see because he is covering half of it up!
Of course the tortoises were a big hit, except when one of them touched Whitney's shoe. That ended the tortoise excitement for Whitney!
Gavin's favorite place was Cosmo's Mystery Area. He was totally enthralled during the entire tour! It however was my least favorite activity we did. It made me very nauseous.
Elliot driving us through bear country. This was Elliot's favorite attraction. We saw plenty of bears.
We stayed at a KOA campgrounds in a cabin. The campground was full of fun, free activities so we spent alot of time there. The kids had fun playing at the sprinkler park, swimming, and bouncing on the bounce pillow.
