The MN State Fair

We went to the MN State Fair yesterday. The fair was lots of fun, but you practically have to take out a small loan when you go. They sure don't give anything away at the fair. Unless you got lucky with parking and found free street parking (which we did) it cost $20 just to park. Both boys had a blast, so it was all worth it. We ate lots of food on a stick, drank lemonade, went on rides, played games, looked at animals, went to the butterfly pavilion, and watched a parade.

At the butterfly pavilion if you stood still the butterflies would come to you and make themselves comfortable where ever. Gavin enjoyed having the butterflies land on him. Elliot liked chasing them, but didn't actually want to touch them.

Enjoying the rides. Elliot was not big enough to go on very many rides, but he enjoyed watching Gavin. Elliot did get to go on the carousel. He wasn't sure what to think when we first started moving. Gavin enjoyed lots of rides.

The boys all tuckered out on the way home from the fair.

Wedding Anniversary

At the beginning of August Grant and I went to Mexico for 4 days for our wedding anniversary. We stayed on the Riveria Maya at the Eldarado Royale Resort. The whole trip was absolutely wonderful and just what Grant and I needed. Gavin and Elliot had the opportunity to spend 1:1 time with both of our parents during this time. They all enjoyed being able to spend time with the boys. Neither of our parents get to see them as often as they would like being in MT and ND. So this was fun for both the boys and our parents.

Here we are at one of the restaurants. This was our favorite restaurant. There were 7 of them to chose from for dinner and they were all wonderful. This place was an oriental place and Grant loved the sushi.

Here we are lounging in a cabana by the pool

Grant playing water volleyball and I am doing water aerobics. The water aerobics was not by choice. The instructor pretty much dragged me off my cabana, I tried telling him that I was on vacation to relax not to work out. It turned out being pretty enjoyable.

The view from the patio out our room. Each patio had a hammock which I took advantage of. Every afternoon after we came back from the pool I would lay in hammock and read/nap.

Grant in the ocean. This was as far as we ever went in. We didn't go into the ocean until our last day there. We always enjoyed hanging out at the pools, but after going down to the ocean we wished we would have gone more. Oh well maybe next time.

This little guy (he actually wasn't that little) was hanging out with us at the pool one day. He was laying right by our cabana. We saw lots of igauna's, but this was the biggest one.

We had a wonderful time and want to go back. Both Grant and I highly recommend this resort. It was beautiful and had lots to offer. It was an adult only and an all inclusive resort which were some nice perks.

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma

On August 2nd we had a 90th birthday party for Grandma Luebke in Froid, MT. She turns 90 in November, but it worked best for everyone to have her party this summer. Almost all of the family was able to attend. All of her children, 7 out of 8 grand-children, and 6 out of 9 great-grand children attended the party. Mildred's sister and niece from Californa were able to make it as well. We had a reception at the church for all the family and friends and a barbeque back at her house for the family. We all had a wonderful time!!!

Who says a 90 year old still can't ride a 4-wheeler. She took a ride up mainstreet and then arrived at her party on it!!!
Grant and the boys also enjoyed riding on the 4-wheeler. Gavin thinks that we need to get one.

Machines

Grandpa Todd has lots of machines and tractors for the boys to play on. Gavin and Elliot enjoyed sitting in their own tractor and honking the horns back and forth at each other. This was a nightly activity they did with grandpa. Today is our last day in Circle. We leave for Williston after lunch. I am hoping to post pictures from our time in Williston as well. We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Grandma Peg's and Grandpa Todd's.
