Weekend Fun with Gavin

Last weekend Gavin was here. He had lots of fun hanging ot with Whitney. He is such a good big brother to both Elliot and Whitney.

Gavin and Grant also enjoyed cooking together. They made yummy spaghetti and brownies.
We also went to the Community Center to swim.
Whitney enjoying her time at the pool (I am not even sure if she knew we were there)!

All Bundled Up

It has been extremely cold here in MN the past couple weeks. So we have not vetured outdoors very much, but the few times we did go out we got all bundled up. Here are a few pictures of Whitney all toasty warm in her snowsuits.

This picture shows how easy going of a baby she is. We were on are way to take Gavin back and didn't notice tht her hat was like this until we got to Evansville. She didn't complain about it once. She usually is bothered by the hat in her eyes, but not this time.

Sesame Street Live

This past Friday Elliot and I went to Sesame Street Live. Elliot is really into Elmo right now so all I heard through out the whole show was "Elmo, Elmo". We went with Marilyn and Jack Sager, baby Jack Sager (Jed and Becky's boy), and Kaylee (who is another little girl that they watch). Marilyn and Jack are the people that watch Elliot when we don't have daycare. They have become Elliot's adopted grandparents. Marilyn and Jack are my good friend Becky's in-laws. This was Elliot's Christmas gift from them. What a perfect gift for him. We went through Community Ed. so we rode on a bus, which Elliot loved. The last picture is of Elliot on the bus. During the show I had a hard time getting a good picture of Elliot's face, because he was to busy watching the show.

One Month Old

When Elliot was born my dad bought him a bear and brought it to him in the hospital. The bear my dad bought for him became the bear we used to take a picture of Elliot every month to measure his growth. My dad did the same thing for Whitney. Her bear isn't quite as big as Elliot's so I am still going to take a picture of her and Elliot's bear every month to get a good measure of her growth. The bear that my dad did get her is perfect for her though because it matches her pink and brown room.

I attempted to take her picture with the bear this morning, but I had a little to much help from Elliot so I didn't get any good ones of her by herself. However, I thought this one was pretty cute. Elliot felt the need to wear his stocking cap this morning. Finally at nap time I convinced him to take it off.

Christmas

This year everyone came to us for Christmas! Since we were having a baby right around Christmas we thought that was grounds for us to not have to travel this year. Both my family and Grant's were here. Because both families were here we had several Christmas's. It has taken me awhile to organize the Christmas pictures so that is why it has taken me so long to post.

We started off Christmas at Ryan and Lorelei's on Christmas Eve day. We celebrated with my mom's side of the family as well as Grant's family. These first 2 pictures are of my Grandpa Lindahl handing out his gifts of love. Every year for Christmas my grandpa gives us his hand carved Santa's. Below is Elliot getting his carved ornament from his greatgrandpa
On Christmas Eve we went back to our house and had Christmas with the Sala's

Uncle Scott and Whitney
Scott and Aidan

On Chritmas morning we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Whitney's house to have Christmas with my dad's side of the family.
On the 26th of Dec. we had Christmas with Gavin and my family.

It was a wonderful Christmas for us. We were blessed to have all of our family here. The best gift of all was the birth of our beautiful baby girl.

The Kids This Week

Thanks Jenny for making this wonderful blanket. We all love it. Whitney and Elliot love laying on it on the living room floor and I use it to keep warm during the middle of the night feedings!

Whitney is starting to become more and more alert every day. It is hard to believe how fast she is changing. She is 4 weeks old today. She is now into 0-3 month outfits and has outgrown most of her new born clothes. She eats like a champ and it shows.......look at the chubby cheeks!!

Elliot loves to help cook, so we give him a bowl and spoon and he cooks too! Or he uses the bowl for a hat
Elliot continues to do well with potty training. You can never be to young to have reading material while you are on the pot!

What has Elliot been doing?

Since Whitney has been born Elliot has been very busy! Here is what he has been up to the last 3 weeks.
Changes

There have been a lot of changes for Elliot in the last 3 weeks. The biggest change is having a sister. He is a great big brother and is adjusting pretty well. He has his moments of jeaulousy, but that is to be expected. He would love for Whitney to be able to play with him. He asked me if he could give her a ride on his lawn mower. He doesn't quite understand that she isn't in the playing stage yet (that will come soon enough). He does love holding and kissing Whitney.

Elliot is now in a big boy bed. He got new truck bedding for Christmas from Grandma Peg and Grandpa Todd. Elliot loves trucks!! He transitioned very well to his new bed. However, there have been several nights he has gotten up in the middle of the night and has fallen asleep in other places. He has been found sleeping in Whitney's new born lounger under the Christmas tree and on the kitchen floor. Elliot is also wearing big boy underwear now. He got "Melmo" (better known as Elmo) underwear from Santa and absolutely loves them. He has had several accidents, but has also made it to the potty several times!!! Elliot has decided to set a new trend of wearing only underwear and snow boots. He loves his snow boots. He would wear them 24/7 if we let him.

Hanging out with his Big Brother

Elliot is really into books and loves being read too. Good thing he has a big brother that can read! He also likes to have a turn to read.
Christmas Toys

Elliot really got into opening his presents this year. He enjoyed playing with his new toys even more. Thanks everyone for all my new toys. I have been busy playing the last couple days!!

Grandparents
Both sets of grandparents were here after Whitney was born. Elliot had lots of fun helping and hanging out with them. He helped his Grandma's clean and he helped his Grandpa Todd paint Whitney's room.
Snow, Snow, Snow!!!

We got lots of snow the last couple of weeks. Elliot loves going outside and playing in it. His favorite snow activity is being pulled in his sled. I took him out one afternoon shortly after Whitney was born and boy was that a great workout for me!!!
