Horse Races

This weekend Elliot and I spent lots of time with Uncle Ryan and Aunt Lorelei. Grant was at a home show all weekend. On Saturday Elliot, Ryan, Lorelei, and I went to the horse races in Shakopee. Elliot enjoyed watching the horses and just being outside.

Hmmm, which horse should I bet on?

Reading

Grandma Peg this post is for you!!!
Gavin has become quite the little reader. He enjoyed reading Elliot his bedtime stories this weekend.

Elliot trying to read one on his own. If you look hard you will notice the book is upside down. The story is much better if you read it upside down.

Pizza

We finally had Gavin this weekend. One of the fun things we did with him this weekend was make homemade pizzas. Earlier in the day Grant took Gavin and the three neighbor boys to an open field to fly kites. They were gone for over 2 hours. I would have loved to gotten pictures of that but the card on our camera was full at the time.

Swimming and Sliding

This afternoon I took Elliot swimming. Our Community Center has a great kids pool. At first Elliot didn't know what to think but as time went on he got braver and braver. The pool starts out very shallow, but gets deeper the further you go in. Since Elliot doesn't walk yet he was crawling around in the pool. I tried telling him and stopping him from going to deep, but he got mad so I decided to let him discover for himself. He did end up crawling a little to far and got his face very wet, but he LOVED it!!!! There are lots of different fountains and things that spray and those were Elliot's favorite. He loved to be sprayed in the face. I think Elliot would have stayed for ever, but after swallowing about a gallon of water and quivering lips I decided that we needed to call it a day. I have been wanting to sign him up for swimming lessons, but wasn't sure if the water would be warm enough. Well he thought it was perfect, so we will be doing swimming lessons this summer.

It was another beautiful day so Elliot and I also went to the park behind our house this afternoon. We were lucky enough to see Elaina (Elliot's daycare provider, who lives one house over from us) so she got this picture of Elliot and I. Elliot loves the slide.
