Vacation to the Black Hills

In the middle of July Grant, the kids, and I took a trip to the Black Hills. We had a wonderful time! Our camera broke half way through our vacation so we didn't get pictures of everything. We still came home with lots of good pictures though!

Our first stop was Storybook Island in Rapid City. The kids had lots of fun running around and playing at the park.

They had an old train engine for kids to climb on. The boys loved it!

The boys also got to ride on the Penny Express

After Storybook Island we headed to Reptile Gardens. Elliot LOVED the Cockroach house and insisted on taking a picture by it. It i kind of hard to see because he is covering half of it up!
Of course the tortoises were a big hit, except when one of them touched Whitney's shoe. That ended the tortoise excitement for Whitney!
Gavin's favorite place was Cosmo's Mystery Area. He was totally enthralled during the entire tour! It however was my least favorite activity we did. It made me very nauseous.
Elliot driving us through bear country. This was Elliot's favorite attraction. We saw plenty of bears.
We stayed at a KOA campgrounds in a cabin. The campground was full of fun, free activities so we spent alot of time there. The kids had fun playing at the sprinkler park, swimming, and bouncing on the bounce pillow.

Grandpa/Great Grandpa Lindahl

The nursing home has a carnival every year in July. The kids, Ryan, mom, and I joined grandma and grandpa this year for the festivities. The kids had a blast. My camera batteries went dead so I wasn't able to capture everything. Poor Whitney didn't end up in very many pictures because of this, but she enjoyed the day just as much as Elliot did! They ate popcorn, saw a baby kangaroo, jumped in the bounce house, and ate ice cream.

Where has the summer gone?

I thought I would do a much better job of blogging once I was done with the school year, however that has not been the case. The summer has once again gotten away from me. We have been very busy this summer and I have a lot of catching up to do with the blogging. We have spent most of our weekends at my parents lake house. The kids have really enjoyed spending time their.
At the beginning of the summer Elliot and Whitney were very hesitant with getting in the water, but now they have become quite the little fishes. They both absolutely love the water. They will even jump in and dunk their faces!
Gavin has graduated to running and jumping off the end of the dock!

Elliot and Whitney adore their big brother Gavin. They always want to do exactly what Gavin is doing. Gavin tolerates it most of the time!

Whitney snuggling with grandpa. Whitney is a big snuggler!

One of Elliot's favorite activities is driving the boat!
The kids have also spent lots of time with their buddy Jack at the lake. The boys like to make their towels into dresses.

I love the evening sunsets over the lake!

Quick trip to MT

I apologize for all my faithful blog viewers for the lack of blogging this month. I am now done with school for the summer and have more time on my hands, so I promise I will do more blogging. The kids and I made a quick trip to Circle for 4 days in the middle of May. The main reason for the trip was for Charity Jensen's bridal shower. I was not able to attend her wedding because it was my last day f school, so I wanted to go to her shower. While we were in Circle we got in on a lot of other fun events. It was the weekend they moved into the new Credit Union so I was able to get a grand tour by my dad. It was also the highschool rodeo and there was a BBQ competition, so Grant came from Williston to partake in that event.

My dad in the lobby of the Credit Union. It looks so awesome! My dad and everyone else that worked on the building did a GREAT job!

One of Elliot's favorite things to do with Grandpa is to ride on all his machines. I think the scissor lift was his favorite. He loved being 42 feet in the air!!

Elliot's first rodeo. It wasn't the warmest day, but we still had fun.

Our Day at the Zoo

Last Saturday Lorelei, the kids, and I went to visit my grandpa and then we went to the Como Zoo and Conservatory. I love the pictures of the kids at the conservatory.
